I tracked down this cute little egg- shaped lip balm I first saw Michelle Phan using in her YT videos at Urban Outfitters last week and picked up the Summer Fruits flavour. They also stock the Lemon Drop and Sweet Mint balms but not the Honeysuckle Honeydew flavour. At £6 each I won't be collecting them all.
It's not as moisturising as I thought it would be but I like the fact that it is 100% natural and 95% organic. It's also billed as being Gluten-free, Paraben-free, Petrolatum-free and Phthalate-free which is a good thing for something I have been applying (and inevitably ingesting) a good few times a day. The Summer Fruits flavour is pleasant and quite subtle. It contains Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E and goes on clear. 'EOS' stands for 'Evolution of Smooth'. It's the ultimate balm for the lazy ones among us, I pucker my lips and swipe the whole thing across in one go!

Will you be getting an egg?
That is sooooo cute! I have about 10,000 lipbalms so eggy is going to have to wait!
ReplyDeleteI do think that this product looks so adorable and I love that it's organic but i do think that it has been hyped up, i have reallydry lips so it doesn't quite do it for me.great post though x
ReplyDeleteYes it's totally hyped, I just love the packaging though - it's so much easier to find when rooting around in my bag! It could be more moisturising though, but it's good for putting on under lipstick etc., as you don't want a too much of a gloopy product as a base :)
ReplyDeleteI totally hopped on the bandwagon too... Seriously though, the very first time I puckered up I found myself saying out loud "Don't believe the hype". I live in Canada where the product isn't available and had to order online. Unfortunatly The EOS website charges flat rate shipping to Canada for a whopping $14 USD. By the time the exchange rate would be applied it would cost me about $20 CAD for product and shipping so I opted to purchase it off of Ebay. I have bought organic lip blams before and spent about $6 CAD on them so when I found one on Ebay for $8 with shipping I was excited. I think the product is pretty decent but I find that it is best if I keep it in my pocket (so it is slightly warm) and I also swipe it across my lips 5-10 times. That seems like a lot but if I am wearing lip balm I like my lips to be smooth and easily rubbed back and forth. 5 coats isn't any greasier than using 1 coat of my previous favorite. Does this lip balm do that chunky build-up if you use to much. I was tempted to try this or something similar while I was waiting on my flu medicine at the drug store.
ReplyDelete£6?! that's awful! in Wal-Mart in America/Canada, the EOS lip balms retail for $2.96, which is the equivalent of £1.86. Urban Outfitters is a total ripper-offer!
ReplyDeleteI know, UO tend to be a rip off on just about everything! Best to stock up on these when you're in the US or Canada I reckon
