Okay so I've heard tonnes of good things about the 'Scrublet' that comes with this face wash so I picked it up at the weekend. Boots were out of the version for oily skin (which contains spot busting Salicylic acid) and the deep pore cleansing one, so I made do with the one for normal/combination skin since it was on offer (I think it was about £3.49).
Sorry about the poor picture quality of the 'scrublet' shots - I couldn't get my camera to focus in the dim light!
It's a good face wash and doesn't make my eyes sting or leave my skin feeling too tight afterwards. The scent is clean and 'refreshing' as stated on the tin, and the soap lathers well. However, the Scrublet action works best when used in the shower and is very gentle, but effective. I would normally use this product at night after removing my make up and just wash my face in the sink - but it can get a bit messy if you're going over your whole face with the small pad. I find it easier to just slap some lather on with my hands and wash my face in one go. Saying that, the scrublet is nice for giving your face a little massage in the shower.
I haven't noticed it unblocking my pores any better than my Soap & Glory Hot Cloth Fab Pore Cleanser (review to come), and I wouldn't repurchase this version of the soap, but I will use the scrublet with my other face washes when this one runs out. I'm tempted to try the exfoliating foaming wash (the orange one).

Have you tried any of these L'Oreal cleansers yet?

I am using the one with salicylic acid in it and im finding it really good. I can see a difference in my blackheads but i am using other spot fighting products at the same time so it could be a combination of things but its working for me. I love the little scrublet. I only use this wash a few times a week though as i find it a little drying. x
ReplyDeleteHey Nicoletta, blackhead busting? hmmm, I'll be tempted to pick up the white one next time Boots or Superdrug have an offer on.
ReplyDeletegreat review!

cool review! will be picking up next time its on offer, currently using The Wave but its not as good as I hoped!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies, I've resisted The Wave as I thought it was a bit gimmicky, but I really want a Clarisonic - I wish that would go on offer! x
ReplyDeleteNope not yet but I'm trying to stay loyal to my Shiseido Face Brush =). Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeletethis looks interesting. I haven't seen it yet. I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the review!

Maybe we can follow each other?
I'm using the purifying one (i think that's what it's called?), anyway, it's the salicylic acid one. so far so good, i like it. i especially like the scrublet, i find it lathers my cleansers much better than just my hands. and as for blemish fighting, it does the job. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the cleansers although I picked up an adorable pink scrublet from Soap and Glory which I team with my favourite No7 cleanser and it scrubs off all my leftover makeup and all things nasty xx
ReplyDelete@Katherine - I've been using this face wash most days now and I'm liking it more each time, but I definitely want to try the one with Salicylic acid - I'd only use it at night though as that ingredient can make your skin more susceptible to sun damage. The scrublet is great and works well with other foaming cleansers too x
ReplyDelete@ Sarah - I haven't seen the Soap & Glory scrublet but will look out for it as I'm preferring using the L'Oreal one much more than my hands! My favourite cleanser is actually the green balancing one from No7 - it just melts the makeup off your face and doesn't leave your skin dry! x
I own the orange scrubbing one! Its called "Glow" and honestly I LOVE LOVE IT! it smells like apricot (soooo delish) and the scrub is effective on my skin, i actually just did a review on it!
ReplyDeleteI'd be tempted to buy this again just to get the scrubber, so I might give the orange one a try as it sounds like it smells good! I must check out your review in a moment!
