What inspired you to create Secret Diary of a Fashion Journalist?

As a journalist, I really love to write. I have always wanted to have my own column in a magazine or newspaper, so I felt a blog would be the next best thing! Its lovely to have full creative control of an area, and also to have somewhere you can ramble about girly things like make-up, fashion, places you have been, and things that inspire you!

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

 I enjoy researching new topics to talk about, and looking for fab pictures and images to accompany them. I also really love chatting to other bloggers, discovering fabulous blogs, and also hearing people’s opinions.

 What are your three Holy Grail beauty products?

 Wow that is so tricky! I guess if I had to narrow it down, it would have to be Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful eye cream, and Barry M nail hardener.

What’s your #1 make up tip?

After you have applied a lipstick, pop your finger in your mouth and pull it out. This prevents the lipstick sticking to your teeth! Sounds totally weird but it really works.

Which celebrity’s make up do you admire most?

I have a huge list; I love taking ideas from celeb’s make up. But I recently met Whitney from The Hills, and thought she looked incredible. She had flawless skin, with just enough foundation and highlighter, and super long eyelashes. She still looked very natural too.

What is your favourite makeup brand? What’s their stand-out product in your opinion?

Wow you are really testing me today! If I had to pick, I would rather predictably say MAC. I just love all their products; the quality is superb. I think their most triumphant product are their lipsticks, as they are always very pigmented, long lasting, and come in so many amazing shades.

Which ‘hyped’ beauty product has let you down the most?

Defiantly Dior Show mascara. I hated it! I was expecting dramatic lashes, and it made them really rather stumpy. It also flaked off, and made my eyes water! Not very good for £18…..

Tell us about your most embarrassing make up/beauty/fashion disaster?

Ha ha trust me there have been a few! One was definitely when I was in my teens, with fake tan. I put on a facial tanner before I went to bed, and made the mistake of not being careful around my eyebrows and hairline.  When I awoke, not only was I ridiculously dark, but my eyebrows had also turned a fetching shade of tangerine!! Cringe!!!

Fashion wise, when I was about 18, I had a thing about Britney. So, trying to emulate her style, I turned up to a nightclub wearing a stripy pink crop top and low rider jeans. I looked completely ridiculous, but I thought I was super cool! Tragic.

Top 3 beauty products on your wish list?

Crème de la Mer face cream, Nail Supreme nail pens, and Lancôme Doll Eyes Mascara.

 That is so so SO hard!! There are so many I LOVE. But I really heart these three…
